for new scouts

 

Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 81.  If you're here on this page, then you must have signed up for 

scouting for this new year or else you want to sign up.  Great, because it's not too late.  You 

probably have a few questions though that you would like answered.  We'll do our best to 

answer some here.  We've had several calls already and most people are asking the same 

questions, so to help get information to everyone without waiting on a phone call we'll try 

and give you the information you need here.  If you don't find what you are looking for below

Q:  How much does it cost?

A:  $3.75 through December 2007 and $14.25 through December of 2008.  Please give the money

      and registration form to Richard Phillips as soon as possible.  

 

Q:  Are all meetings on Thursday evenings?

A:  Pack meetings are usually every 4th Thursday of each month.  Once in a while that may change

       to the 3rd Thursday or possibly a Saturday depending on what events are happening and can 

       also be changed due to holidays.  Again check the Calendar of Events on the main page.  

       Den meetings are held according to the den leaders schedule so contact your den leader to see

       what days your scouts den meeting will be and where. 

       Pack meetings are for the whole family along with the scout.  At these meetings there are 

       several things that take place.  Badges and awards and handed out, sometimes there are guest

       speakers, a few announcements and things that involve the whole pack. 

       Den meetings are only for each den and some den leaders ask parents to stay, some don't have

        a preference.  Den meetings though are for the boys to work on getting their awards and other

        fun projects.  Pack and den meetings both usually last about 1 hour.

 

Q:  Where can I get my scout a uniform?

A:  Uniforms and accessories can be purchased from the Boy Scout shop in Terre Haute.  It's located 

      at about South 25th and Oak Street in Terre Haute.  Although Terre Haute is affiliated with the

      Wabash Valley Council, you can still purchase uniforms there.  PACK 81 is in the Lincoln Trails

      Council.  You can obtain a Lincoln Trails Council patch for your uniform from Richard Phillips at

      the pack meeting.  Uniforms are not required, but STRONGLY suggested to be worn at all pack

      meetings, den meetings and anytime the scouts are participating in a scout function.  The scout

      handbook, which can also be purchased in Terre Haute, has displays of how to properly wear the

       uniform.  

 

Q:  Can I still sign up my scout even though I missed the school night sign up?

A:  Yes you can.  Please contact Cari Dailey at 826-3515 or by email or send a email using the link 

      on the main page of the scouts website.  Let her know you want to sign up and she'll contact you 

      to get your boy(s) signed up.

 

Q:  I didn't find my answer here, who do I contact?
